The “doctors” were in Mrs. Johnson’s room recently. Students prepared for word surgery, wearing masks and surgical gloves. Students have been learning about contractions. Students got to be surgeons and perform “surgery” to make contractions out of two words. Students used band-aids for the apostrophe and placed it where the letter had to be removed to form the proper contraction.
