WHS Student Council is so excited to announce that this year’s AWOL Community Kickoff Event is going to look a little different… and a whole lot delicious 

We’re hosting our FIRST Food Truck Event & Competition! With Live Music!

When: Sunday afternoon, May 3

Where: Washington PUblic Schools Gymatorium Parking lot adjacent to the cafeteria

Here’s how it’ll work:

We are anticipating Multiple food trucks that will be set up

You’ll order and pay just like you would at any food truck

Bring your food inside, enjoy great music, and hang out with the community

entry will be free, however, donations are welcomed and suggested

All proceeds will go to AWOL 2026 recipient, Greyson Williams.

The Fun Part:

The community will get to vote for their favorite food truck, and the winner will earn the soon to be highly coveted 

“AWOL – Fan Favorite Food Truck 2026”

Plus, they’ll receive a magnet to proudly display on their trailer!

Our goal is to create a great variety of options that make it worthwhile for vendors and fun for our community— while raising support for baby Greyson and we’d love for this to become a yearly tradition.

Mark your calendars, bring your family, if weather permits, children will be able to access the playground and we will have cornhole set up if you want to play a friendly game of cornhole.

We can’t wait to hear your ideas and see everyone out there on May 3!
