Washington Agriculture Students Making Their Mark At The Oklahoma Youth Expo
Washington Agriculture students were eager to attend the 2021 Oklahoma Youth Expo. Last year, OYE was cut short and shut down due to COVID-19, leaving students devastated. Washington students have anticipated the return of OYE, and their hard work and determination are already paying off. On Thursday, Kinser Scott placed second with his commercial heifer. On Friday, Karlee Trammell, pictured with her doe, won Reserve Grand Champion Whether Dam. Three Washington students participated with showmanship (based on the kids showing abilities); all three were top 10 in their age division. Students were Karlee Trammell, Katelyn Blankenship, and Kate Trammell (Overall Reserve Champion Showman). There were about 40 kids in each age group. The expo is just getting started, and Agriculture Instructor Melinda Tague anticipates much more success from her students.
